How can I submit my asylum application in Guyana?

First you must go to the GUDA, in Cayenne. An asylum application form will be provided to you, as well as an asylum application certificate.

Once you receive this form from the prefecture, you have 7 days to fill it out and present yourself in person to the Ofpra offices in Cayenne, along with your form duly filled out (in French) and accompanied by the documents necessary to submit your application.

When your application is complete, Ofpra will personally give you an introductory letter as well as a summons to the interview and a summons to pick up your decision.

If you would like to provide additional documents while your asylum application is being examined, please provide them to Ofpra on the day of your interview.
