Withdrawing your application (withdrawal)
The explicit withdrawal procedure allows you to withdraw your asylum application at any stage of the process.
How do I request withdrawal?
Please use the withdrawal form (available for download) and send it to OFPRA by email at the following address: siac@ofpra.gouv.fr.
You may also request the withdrawal of your application during your interview at OFPRA.
Your legal counsel may also submit this request on your behalf.
What are the consequences?
Withdrawing your application terminates the review process for your case.
OFPRA’s decision confirming the withdrawal is final and cannot be appealed.
If you wish to apply for international protection again at a later date, you will need to file a new asylum application, which will be reviewed as a subsequent application.
The withdrawal of your application also applies to any minor children included in your case.
If you are receiving material reception conditions, these will be terminated. Your right to reside in France may also be reviewed by the prefecture, depending on your situation.
